Colombia, located in northwestern South America, borders the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean.  The Indian minority (2%) lives in the great forest and plains east of the Andes.  Colombia compares in size to the combined areas of Texas and New Mexico.  The population is 44.2 million; 97% are Roman Catholic.  There are about 50 assemblies in this Spanish-speaking country.
