Tanzania is a strategic country in East Africa as it shares its borders with eight other nations and the Indian Ocean.  The republic includes the large island of Zanzibar, which is inhabited mostly by Muslims.  The population is 35.4 million; 40% are considered "Christian."  Swahili and English are the official languages.
