French Guiana, smaller than the state of Indiana, is on the northeast coast of South America with a population of 200 thousand people.  French Guiana was made an overseas department (state) of France in 1946 and is governed by a prefect (governor) appointed by the French government.  One missionary commended from Holland also works with the ten assemblies in this sparsely populated country.
