Belgium, about the size of Maryland, is truly a needy mission field.  Ninety percent of the population of 10.4 million profess to be Roman Catholic.  There are thousands of North Africans, Spaniards, and Turks in Belgium as immigrant workers and Islam has a large following.  There is freedom of religion but evangelicals are fewer than 0.3%.  Assembly missionaries work in the Flemish part of the country, where there are now 27 assemblies.  There are also 20 French-speaking assemblies.
