Spain has enjoyed guaranteed religious liberty since 1978, experienced only briefly one other time since Muslims from Northern Africa invaded the land in 711 AD.  Evangelicals suffer mostly vocal persecution, although they are still spurned as part of a "cult."  Spaniards remain traditionally Roman Catholic, but only 10% are regular church-goers.  Assemblies began in Galicia over 125 years ago and today there are 180 in the country.  The population is 41.3 million.
