South Africa, with its
population of 44 million and wide variety of races, tribes, and
cultures, is often described as "a world in one country."
Although one of the richest and most powerful countries on the continent,
abject poverty, AIDS, and crime exist side by side with enormous wealth
and high technology. The country's liberal constitution guarantees
every kind of human right and also allows full freedom to preach and teach
God's Word. Assembly work has been particularly fruitful amongst the
Coloured communities in the Cape and the Zulu work in KwaZulu/Natal.
