Senegal is slightly
smaller than South Dakota; it lies between the Sahara desert to the north
and the tropics to the south. Though 92% of its 10.6 million people
are Muslims, the government guarantees religious liberty. Those
who turn to the Lord, however, experience rejection from their
families. Senegal has more than 20 different ethnic groups, each
with their own distinct language and culture. The official language
is French, but the dominant language is Wolof. The New Testament has
been translated into the Wolof language.
