Nigeria is Africa's most populated country with 133.9 million inhabitants.  It is one-third larger than California in area.  Nigeria is an independent nation made up of some 250 ethnic groups.  There are over 400 languages spoken, although English is the official language.  About 47% of the people are Muslim, 34% "Christian," and 18% animist.
