Botswana lies on the
high interior plateau of south central Africa. It is a vast
land-locked flat desert-like wilderness with a population of 1.6
million. In area, it is similar to Texas. Assembly work in
Botswana was started in 1966 by Scottish missionaries; currently there are
5 assemblies in the country. There is an open door for evangelism,
but the laborers are few. Nationally the HIV/AIDS infection rate is
40%. Setswana and
English are the two official languages.
