Poland is in the heart of Eastern Europe, covering an area about the size of New Mexico.  The country has made great strides towards a fully democratic government and market economy.  The Roman Catholic church claims 95% of the population of 38.6 million, while the other 5% is made up of Orthodox, Uniate, and Protestants.
